CC DAY 73: Remember to Be Kind

I don’t know how I stumbled upon it because I have been very deliberate about not watching the news, especially Nigerian news. However I happened to find myself watching a snippet of the daily Presidential Task Force Briefing. As usual, I was disappointed.

Someone came out and announced that all schools within Nigeria offering international curriculum’s may go ahead and complete 3rd term online as those schools cater to expatriate children who should not be behind the children in their home countries should they choose to return to their home countries.

I find this just wild that foreign children are given more consideration than Nigerian children in Nigeria. It is shocking and shameful that in a country of 200 million people, no one is able to come up with a plan of any kind for the education of the children in this country. We have been in lock down in one form or the other for going on 3 months, and in that time absolutely nothing. Not a single word that makes sense.

Someone commented to me that those in position to make the decision are not affected because their children are either in international schools in Nigeria or are in schools outside Nigeria. It’s just so shocking that people can be so irresponsible with the lives of their own people.
